How it started...
I am a graduate of the Mechatronic Systems Engineering program at Simon Fraser University where I was an active member of the post-secondary space-tech community. I started out as one of the early technical members of the ADCS team on the SFU Satellite Design Team where I became introduced to satellite systems design. Less than a year later, I was elected president of the team (~70 People) as we embarked on three major technical projects; High Altitude Balloon, ORCASAT (Launched in 2022), and CSDC.
After completing an eight month internship in nano-probing and nano-technology in Lausanne, Switzerland. I returned to Vancouver and co-founded two ventures, SFU Aerospace which promotes aerospace education within the university and Garrow Space Systems (GSS). Garrow was awarded an STDP grant from the Canadian Space Agency and raised over $150K for the development of an electric thruster. After being awarded the ‘eCo-op Award’ by the SFU Venture Connection Incubator, I had the opportunity to lead the business full-time.
How it’s going…
Since graduation, I have been working professionally as an engineer in Systems Validation at SpaceAlpha Insights, and as VP of Systems Engineering for Caidin Biotechnologies.
From entrepreneurial pursuits to professional development within industry, my passions have led me to build some cool things, with even cooler people.
