President | Project Manager

As the President of the SFU Satellite Design Team, I oversaw its operations, coordinated logistics, and established a future vision. The team, with over 50 active members, is one of the largest design teams at Simon Fraser University. During my term as president, I oversaw three main projects; the Canadian Satellite Design Competition, High Altitude Balloon, and the Canadian CubeSat Project (which entailed handling a $200,000 grant from the CSA). In order to accomplish these projects, I introduced new project management tools to the team through sponsorship, implemented a more effective meeting structure, increased team communication with software tools, and lead recruitment of new members.

Computing | ADCS Developer

During my time as a team member of the ADCS (Attitude Determination and Control System) and the Computing Subsystems, I was able to advance my technical knowledge, particularly in the field of firmware development. With the ADCS team, I gained an understanding of the components of a passive and active attitude control system. For orbital determination, I contributed to the integration of a Novatel OEM719 GPS system with our satellite bus. This was achieved by first using an Arduino to communicate with the GPS over serial and subsequently the On-Board Computer. With the Computing team, I worked on the hardware test platform for the satellite and gained familiarity with FreeRTOS on the TMS570 used for our On-Board Computing Subsystem.
